Welcome to Holy Spirit Catholic School's Teachers' Corner
Holy Spirit School is dedicated to maintaining a
faculty who are committed to personal and academic excellence. We
rely on our teachers to guide our students by precept and example,
and we look to our parents to reinforce those attitudes. Faculty
and parents must expect the best from our students and we must hold
our children to the expectation. Faculty and administration expect
appropriate behavior of our students. We expect that each student
will behave in ways that reflect positively on themselves, their
school and their families.
Our teachers follow all academic standard skills set
by the Diocese of Columbus and the State of Ohio. They are
encouraged to keep their teaching skills at the forefront and as
such are encouraged to attend workshops, conferences, in-service
programs in academic and religious education certification as well
as post-graduate work. To that goal, they are provided the
opportunity to observe methods, techniques, programs and teachers in
other schools. Holy Spirit Faculty also actively participates in the
school's life of worship through the planning of liturgies.
Holy Spirit School works to provide their teachers
with a variety of aids in instruction including print,
audio-visuals, interactive white boards, manipulatives, records,
skill kits, hands-on experiences, etc. Teachers are encouraged to
use a variety of questions including "how" and "why" questions in
their instructions, as well as "what" and "who", in order to develop
the students' critical and evaluative thinking skills, along with
memory and recall skills.
Because our Faculty members have a vested interested
in the growth, development and achievements of their students, they
provide follow-up with students who do not complete their daily work
and homework. Teachers are available to assist students individually
or to confer with parents on several days after school.
